Updated for the August 6, 2026 launch (PS5 · PC) — guides are revised as live data comes in.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag-team fighter from Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ. It launches with 20 Marvel heroes and villains, a shared Vital Gauge across your team, and a dedicated Tag Button that makes assists and swaps central to every match. Whether you are here to find a main, learn combos or pick the right fight stick, this hub covers the high-intent questions the big sites are too slow to answer.
- Standard Edition is $59.99 on PS5 and PC. Deluxe adds the Year 1 Character Pass; Ultimate adds costumes.
The 60-Second Version
- You play a team of four, not one character. You start with two fighters and assemble the full squad mid-match through stage transitions and wall breaks.
- Health is shared. All four characters draw from one Vital Gauge. A greedy super taxes your whole team, not just one character.
- Combos are built on three buttons. Light, Medium and Heavy chains lead to Skills, Super Skills and Ultimate Skills respectively.
- The Tag Button is everything. Tag on hit, on assist, defensively or pre-battle — mastering this separates beginners from intermediate players.
- Beginners should start with Captain America. He builds Skill Gauge faster than anyone and has the cleanest learning curve.
Marvel Tokon's 4v4 tag system starts as a 2v2 and expands mid-match as you assemble your team. Learn the combo system →

Marvel Tokon vs Marvel Rivals — How They Compare

Is Marvel Tokon Worth Playing?
If you like Arc System Works fighters, tag games like Marvel vs. Capcom, or Marvel characters with deep combo potential, yes. The launch roster is strong, the systems are approachable but deep, and the 4v4 format gives it a different rhythm from standard 1v1 fighters.
Honest caveats: the game is brand new, so expect balance patches and a shifting metagame. Console performance will not match PC in every scenario. And if you have never played a fighting game before, give yourself a few hours in the Startup Battle tutorial — it is genuinely worth doing.
